The lake formed in the crater of an extinct volcano and is fed by underground springs located in a cave at its bottom. Thanks to the constant movement of water and its natural circulation, the temperature remains stable across the entire surface, and the water is always clean and rich in minerals.

The lake water contains radon, sulfur, carbon dioxide, as well as minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, bromine, and iodine. At the bottom of the lake lies a layer of therapeutic peat mud with antibacterial properties. These natural factors make Hévíz effective in treating:
